What to do if the rental car is not allowed to drive a highland rout? Take the bus!
We took the bus from Akureyri via the Kjölur route knowing that we would have only limited time at the scheduled stops along the route.
This was the first stop on the route and after 60 minutes we had to leave. It was not too hard as there was a strong and cold wind this day.
Although we already saw the geothermal field at Myvatn, it was still impressive to this one.
