What to do if the rental car is not allowed to drive a highland route? Take the bus!
We took the bus from Akureyri via the Kjölur route knowing that we would have only limited time at the scheduled stops along the route.
This was the last stop on the route and after only 30 minutes we had to leave. But we had good luck and could see the water fountain of the more active Geysir and were also been able to take a picture of the fountain. We would like to see more, but we had no time left. With a good teamwork we could take a picture of the fountain and also collect the required info to answer the EC's question to log it.
