What to do if the rental car is not allowed to drive a highland route? Take the bus!
We took the bus from Akureyri via the Kjölur route to Reykjavik knowing that we would have only limited time at the scheduled stops along the route.
This was the third stop on the route and we had only 30 minutes for sightseeing at Gullfoss. A big and impressive waterfall. Bigger than the Dettifoss and Godafoss we already saw during our stay in the north. And much more crowded with people. But we could at least get an impression of the size and also find the hints to answer the required questions.
